The Friends of Wollongong City Gallery Resident Artist ProgramThe Friends of Wollongong City Gallery Resident Artist program enables visitors to see first-hand an artist at work, participate in workshops and discuss the ideas that inform their work. 'The program is an exciting opportunity for artists of the Illawarra and beyond, and offers a centrally located studio work space for one year, plus a nominal stipend.. The residency includes:

Exterior Panel ProposalsWollongong City Gallery is the only public art museum in Australia with a major exhibiting gallery facing the street. The dramatic curved facade of the Gallery is a public exhibition space with the capacity to display up to 27 panels. Proposals are invited from individuals or groups to develop 2D projects using light weight zincalume panels provided by the Gallery. Artist fees are negotiated. The James Kiwi Watercolour PrizeThe James Kiwi Watercolour Prize is a biennial award of $2000 for a work featuring watercolour as the predominant medium. The prize was initiated from the bequest of Mr James Wambola Kiwi, a local watercolourist who left monies in his will for the establishment of an art prize that would highlight the techniques and subtleties of the watercolour medium. Entries for the 2008 James Kiwi Watercolour Prize are due no later than 5pm, Friday 16 May 2008. |
